Mass brawl erupts in Manchester Aldi car park involving 50 people

A mass brawl involving as many as 50 people in an Aldi car park may have been sparked by a man asking for a girl’s phone number according to reports.

A woman in her 30s was left seriously injured after the chaos in Gorton in the early hours of Sunday.

Police were called at around 4am to reports of a fight involving dozens of people, including some reportedly armed with weapons.

When officers arrived they found a woman being treated by paramedics.

It is believed she was hit by a vehicle.

The Police said in a statement:

Police were called at 4am yesterday morning (Sunday 15 August) to a report of a large fight involving nearly 50 people on a car park off Garratt Way, Manchester.

On officers’ arrival, the group dispersed and a woman in her 30s was treated by paramedics. It is believed that a vehicle had collided with her and she suffered a serious but not life-threatening head injury.

No arrests have been made and enquiries are ongoing.
