MASSIVE manhunt launched as SICKO holds KNIFE to baby’s throat during robbery

Police are desperately appealing for witnesses after a baby was threatened with a knife during a robbery yesterday leaving the family distraught.

A Grandmother in her 40s was taking her 19-month-old grandson for a stroll around the wooded area off Ormesby Road, Normanby, Middlesbrough, when a man produced a knife and placed it on the baby’s throat after she refused to hand him her purse.

The victim then handed over her belongings and the man ran off, fortunately leaving the child unhurt following the incident, which took place between 5pm and 6pm yesterday.

The victim has told the Police that the suspect was an ‘Asian male’ with ‘very bad teeth’ and a ‘foreign accent’. He is further described as aged in his 20s (20-25), around 6ft tall, with a medium build and short black hair.

He is believed to have been wearing a black tracksuit with one red stripe down the side and a black leather belt with a pouch around his waist and black and gold Nike trainers.

A Police Spokesperson said:

This was clearly a terrifying incident for the victim and very distressing as it involved a threat of violence against her grandchild.

We’re appealing for anyone who might have seen a man matching this description to speak to us urgently by calling 101 with reference number 086712.”
