A story linked in the Global Health Now (GHN) newsletter caught my eye. GHN emanates from Johns Hopkins University Bloomberg School of Public Health, which probably tells you all that you need to know. The Bloomberg school essentially houses stormtroopers for the global health agenda and the GHN is one the many missiles they fire.
GHN is vehemently pro-Democrat (and anti-Trump) and has been a megaphone for Covid orthodoxy, supporting vaccination without limit, mask wearing against all evidence and never providing links to anything remotely critical of the way the global plandemic has been managed.
The link to which I refer was from the cryptically titled NPR news site Goats and Soda. The headline was ‘Pro-Trump counties now have far higher COVID deaths rates’ which, from my understanding of Covid related deaths in the United States and their relation to voting patterns was very unlikely to be true.
Since one of my son’s Godfathers, a very numerate and senior scientist, lives in Trump voting Orange County California, I asked him about the story to which he unambiguously replied:
“False! I live in Orange County California, and we voted for Trump. We have neither death related to Covid nor high number of infections. We have had no restrictions such as wearing masks anywhere (theaters, gyms, restaurants, stores, etc.) since June. Instead, Los Angeles County, a socialist regime that voted for the puppet, has a high number of infections, some deaths, and draconian restrictions with masks everywhere and a green pass. Think about Florida: the entire state is like our county and doing better than any other state.”
These stubborn facts must be a great irritation to Sleepy Joe Biden and his vaccine addicted health henchmen. It is clearly an irritation to liberal Los Angeles where Orange County is described as the ‘Mother Ship of GOP funding’. But this is how news works these days. Little effort to find out the facts or tell the truth combined with, undoubtedly, deliberate attempts to mislead and misinform.
We are suffering from this in Britain and mainly at the hands of our national broadcaster the Ministry of Truth (aka the BBC). I hear the 6am bulletin on the Radio 4 Today programme each day as it comes on with my alarm. Listening to them reporting on the current omicron variant demonstrates their complete detachment from reality and willingness to play their part in generating the ‘State of Fear’ so aptly described by Laura Dodsworth. This Saturday the fear was being ramped up over a virus, cases of which have ‘doubled overnight’ to approximately 0.001% of the population (it rose to 0.004% by Monday, a so-called ‘tsunami’ by Boris Johnson). They predict that there will be 100,000 cases per day by the end of the month and amplify the calls for further and tighter Covid-19 restrictions. As far as we know, the omicron variant has not yet hospitalised anyone—despite the predicted 1,000 hospitalisations per day—and nobody has died of it. Undoubtedly that will come, and you can be sure it will be announced with a black border on the front page of The Times and other UK government megaphones. Of course, that envy of the world—the model that no other country has adopted—the NHS is predicted to be ‘overwhelmed’.
Who knows what will happen by Christmas? Half the population of Britain could be dead, the existence of Santa Claus could be verified, or we may have The Second Coming of Christ. But the best measure of the veracity of predictions is how well they have worked in the past. To date, regarding the death rate from Covid-19, the modellers and meddlers have been completely wrong.
