Reports have emerged that suggest that Meghan Markle may be set to enter politics and run for President in 2024. A source that is quoted in Vanity Fair has suggested that she may run to be president in 2024. The source said: “One of the reasons she was so keen not to give up her American citizenship was, so she had the option to go into politics. I think if Meghan and Harry ever gave up their titles she would seriously consider running for president”.
Meghan and Harry have already come under fire for, publically coming out in support of Joe Biden. Publically engaging in politics has been cited by some as a violation of royal protocol. In addition to this Meghan spoke to Marie Claire about her reasons for voting as well as being interviewed by Gloria Steinem. Both Meghan and Harry also appeared in a video for TIME magazine’s special, with Meghan saying: “Every four years, we are told the same thing: that this is the most important election of our lifetime. But this one is. When we vote, our values are put into action and our voices are heard. Your voice is a reminder that you matter, because you do, and you deserve to be heard”.
Ladbrokes currently has Meghan Markle as the 13th favourite to be victorious in 2024 at the considerable price of 40/1. The controversial ‘Good Morning Britain’ presenter Piers Morgan has taken to Twitter to ridicule Mrs Markle. Piers Morgan said, “I have serious ambitions to be Pope – and have more chance of realising them than this ludicrously deluded woman”.
