During the Black Lives Matter and ANTIFA protest in Seattle a part of the city‘s neighborhood was occupied that became known as Chaz. Despite the outbreak of overt violence, mainstream media such as Vox described the riots as „peaceful protests“. It does not matter that the protests lasted for almost a month, resulting in an autonomous zone in a sovereign state. Meanwhile, the occupation of the US Capitol was met as a terrorist act, the organizer of which, according to the Mainstream Media was the 45th US President Donald Trump. The Mainstream Media didn‘t care how many people were injured and how many assets were destroyed in Seattle, the occupation of the Capitol is still seen as a terrorist act. One might think that the cases of Seattle and the Capitol are different because the Capitol is a symbol of the US state. That would be true, but during a protest by ANTIFA and Black Lives Matter a police station was invaded and destroyed in Seattle. What makes a police station not a symbol of the US state? But when we close our eyes to this fact, there is some ground for censorship: on the same day of the Capitol‘s protest, the US President‘s Twitter was deleted and his Facebook account was blocked.
Censoring alternative social networks is no longer a utopia
Concerns that political correctness would turn into real censorship were right. “Parler” an alternative social network that defends free speech has been removed from all possible app platforms, including Google Play, the Apple App Store, and Amazon hosting. This happened immediately after the protest. Coincidence or not, but such behavior seems to have been seen somewhere before: In 1933 February 27th at the night the Nazis set fire to the Reichstag communists were blamed for the accident. Hitler then demanded the signing of a special “protection of the national and the State” law which “temporarily” abolished the fundamental freedoms and rights of citizens. Isn’t abolishing a politically open social network a “temporary” disqualification from using alternative platforms? At the same time, we can remember that this huge storm of censorship provoked the decision of Donald Trump’s opponent Joe Biden to pass a new law (according to the Wall Street Journal) against “internal terrorism”. Another concern is that the CHAZ protests by a recognized terrorist organization such as ANTIFA have not sparked a similar debate on special legislation, although they have devastated larger areas and lasted longer. This shows that we are not talking here about honestly, but about political ideologies.
The election is lost but the voters will not go anywhere
In short, it was the US democrats elite that dealt with the previous U.S president from the beginning of the election. Back in 2016 at Alfred Smith’s charity lunch, Trump joked that all mainstream media were salesmen of his opponent Hillary Clinton. This has been the case throughout the presidency, including during the election in 2020. These events send a very clear message to conservative America and the conservative Western world – your opinions are unwelcomed, and you will be silenced for expressing them. The problem is that according to official statistics alone, 74.3 million voters cast their vote for Donald Trump. This figure is over 11.4 million higher than in 2016. So a belief that these conservative voters will disappear is naïve. The media of censorship and political bias provokes a growing circle of conscious people who will continue to develop alternative media and alternative social networks and who may “unexpectedly” elect a politically unscrupulous candidate during the next elections.
