PM expected to announce a mandatory quarantine of air and sea arrivals

The MSM has been running stories over the last number of days that stated the British government were set to quarantine airport arrivals into Britain. However, UNN’s Oliver Down understands that Prime Minister Boris Johnson is expected to announce that mandatory quarantine of airport arrivals will not begin until June. This will be three months after UK residents were placed under effective house arrest due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The Prime Minister is expecting to announce this evening that those entering the country by air and sea will be required to self-quarantine for fourteen days. This is despite government and MSM  sources claiming that the border restrictions would be put in place immediately.

All arrivals arriving into Britain from tomorrow will be will need to provide a digital form to provide to immigration officials giving an address for where they intend to carry out their self imposed quarantine. Those found breaking the quarantine will face a fine of up to £1,000.

“These measures will help protect the British public and reduce the transmission of the virus as we move into the next phase of our response,” a government source told The Times. Nations such as,  Australia, Greece, New Zealand, and Singapore, have been quarantines arrivals at their airports long ago.

Public Health England and British government officials have previously claimed that quarantines and health checks would have been ineffective in slowing the spread of the virus because of the rate at which it was spreading through the country. The fact that the government will now begin implementing quarantines suggests that they were wrong.

Since the national lockdown was introduced nearly 7 weeks ago an estimated 100,000 unchecked people have continued to pour into the country through the nation’s airports every week. Home Office figures have revealed that between January 1st and March 22nd of this year, just 273 arrivals into Britain were placed under quarantine.
