A police officer has been assaulted by during a Black Lives Matter protest outside Downing Street.
Sky News reported that a Police officer was punched during George Floyd protest outside the Prime Minister residence.
As well as this, officers were forced to surround the cenotaph to remove the protestors who were dancing on it. Crowds slowly thinning out outside Downing Street.
Thousands have taken to the streets in London to protest the death of George Floyd however many fear the violence could get worse after this police officer was attacked.
At around 18:15 today, An object, which appeared to be a plastic bottle, was thrown at officers outside Downing Street, PA reported.
More than two dozen officers were outside the gates and some were talking to protesters.
When asked what his message would be to President Trump following the death of George Floyd, the Prime Minister said the incident “sickened” him and that “racism and racist violence has no place in our society”.
