President Trump expands ban on US funding for certain diversity training

The President of the US Donald Trump has issued an executive order that intends expanding a ban on the use of federal money for certain diversity training schemes. Yesterday President Trump on Tuesday the order which expands on the actions of his administration earlier this month when they ordered the end of critical race theory diversity training being funded with federal money.

President Trump has said that his new order expands on the diversity training for the U.S. military, government contractors amongst others. Trump said via Twitter: “A few weeks ago, I BANNED efforts to indoctrinate government employees with divisive and harmful sex and race-based ideologies,” Trump tweeted shortly before issuing the order. Today, I’ve expanded that ban to people and companies that do business with our country”. A follow-up tweet said “with our Country, the United States Military, Government Contractors, and Grantees. Americans should be taught to take PRIDE in our Great Country, and if you don’t, there’s nothing in it for you!”.

Over recent months, in particular, President Trump has consistently defended US statue’s and landmarks as part of what he has described as a “culture war” ahead of the election on November the 3rd. Only last week, President Trump announced plans to set up a commission to promote patriotic education. UNN’s Oliver Down understands that this panel will be encouraging American educators to teach students about the positives of American history as well as plan for the commemoration of the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence in 2026.
