Reports are emerging that are suggesting that the Government is set to drop its “Stay Home” message THIS WEEKEND after Public Health England has local councils to prepare to remove the slogan from its websites this weekend. The Communications team for local government have been told to expect a “transition to a new phase of the campaign”.
It has been previously reported that the Government was preparing to drop its “Stay Home” message for the “second phase” of the coronavirus response. Isaac Levido the Australian strategist who masterminded the Conservatives’ election win, is working on a new message.
An email leaked to the Mail’s Harry Cole which was being sent to the Government communications hub stated: “Please ensure that all Stay Home messaging is removed from websites, social media and other available channels. As the PM is expected to set out a road map on how the UK will move out of the lockdown on Sunday, we anticipate that we will shortly transition to a new phase of the campaign.”
The Twitter user @ElwoodPolly stated angrily on Twitter in response “Announcement on Sunday? So if I go out between now & Sunday I could kill somebody, but, if I go out from Monday onwards, I won’t?”.
