Judges have stripped three men of British citizenship after they were jailed for grooming young girls in Rochdale meaning they now face deportation to Pakistan.

The Court of Appeal ruled today in the cases of Abdul Aziz, Adil Khan and Qari Abdul Rauf, who were among nine men jailed in May 2012 after being found guilty of grooming and sexually exploiting several young girls.

In some cases, the girls, aged in their early teens, were raped and then offered to paying customers in Rochdale and Oldham.

Theresa May, the then Home Secretary, began the process in 2015 by ruling that the men should not remain British.

The men who are all of the Pakistani nationality claimed the decision violated their human right to family life.

The three men appealed to the court pleading not to lose their British Citizenship. Court of Appeal judges rejected a legal challenge from the men.

Senior judges ruled that stripping the men of their citizenship was “conducive to the public good”.

Lord Justice Sales said the men were motivated by “lust and greed” which amounted to “serious organised crime”.

The judge who jailed the men in 2012 said victims were “raped callously, viciously and violently”.

“In some cases, they were driven around Rochdale and Oldham to be made to have sex with paying customers, All the men treated the girls as though they were worthless and beyond all respect.”
