Sadiq Khan likens PM Johnson and President Trump with the Nazi’s

The under-fire Mayor of London Sadiq Khan has once again been offering his thoughts on national and international matters. It would appear that Mr Khan has likened the President of the USA Donald Trump as well the British Prime minister Boris Johnson to Nazi’s in a somewhat bizarre rant in the Observer. During this rant, Sadiq Khan labelled the two gentlemen as “far-right” leaders, as well as calling for more devolved powers for London in addition to Britain remaining in the European Union.  

Shortly after the comments emerged Ian Payne of LBC pulled no punches when he suggested that Mr Khan “should stick to governing London”. The mayor of London described Mr Trump as a “global poster-boy for white nationalism” as well as stating that Mr Trump is somewhat of an inspiration to Boris Johnson. Once Mr Khan had paired Johnson and Trump together, Mr Khan then went one step further. Mr Khan then appeared to liken them both to the Nazi’s adding that Trump and Johnson’s popularity is as a result of “lessons of the Second World War’ are at risk of “being forgotten”. 

It is widely known Sadiq Khan is no fan of Donald Trump and Boris Johnson and Sadiq Khan and Donald Trump have shared a bitter rivalry for a long period of time. However, Mr Khan’s comments have been described as inflammatory by some and a disgrace by others. Mr Khan also stated that He added that support for democracy in the western world is apparently at a “record low”, this is despite an election not happening in Nazi Germany for the last 8 years of their rule and that Britain has had two elections in the last 4 years and another looking increasingly likely soon. 

Mr Khan was not finished there. He went on to insist that is Nigel Farage’s influence that he sees as having pushed the Conservatives to become “ever more right wing, illiberal and intolerant”. Sadiq Khan is set to fight for a second term as Mayor of London in 2020 and is likely to face a serious challenge for Conservative candidate Shaun Bailey and with crime at a record level in the capital of England he might just be wise to take the advice of Ian Payne.
