An accountant smashed his ex-wife’s head against a car and called her a ‘bacon basher’ after she started dating a white man who they worked with. The couple had been married for 21 years and had 3 children together.
Syed Ahmad, 51, grabbed his ex wife Perveen Ahmad by her Luis Vuitton hand bag then assaulted her during a morning argument after she exited from her gym to find her Lexus had been vandalised.
During the incident outside the David Lloyd gym in Cheadle, Stockport, Ahmad slammed his ex-wife’s head against the car, leaving a dent. He was pulled off Mrs Ahmad, also 51, by her boyfriend David Wallwork, who then pinned him to the ground as he ‘thrashed about’ during a violent struggle.
Police recovered mobile phone footage, shot by Ahmad himself, in which his ex-wife is overheard saying: ”He is a bitter, twisted man who committed money laundering. He stole from people.”
Mrs Ahmad told Stockport Magistrates’ Court:
It has been very acrimonious. When my ex-husband ended the marriage I felt shocked as it was father’s day. You don’t forget father’s day, I was upset for the children. I was in David Lloyd gym exercising as is my usual routine every morning. My friend and I had been working out for a long time I normally get there about 8.30am or 9am in the morning after the school run.
After my work out we were walking out towards my car and I saw it was all sprayed on the passenger side all black all the way to the end.
My car is white so it stood out and when I saw that straight away I was just really upset and it was apparent to me who had done that so I headed back to the reception to speak to somebody straight away to tell them what has happened.
‘I dialled the police on my phone and said my ex husband has sprayed the car, David was at the gym and we were on the phone to the police when my ex husband walked out. As I was on the phone I said ‘that is him – that is my ex who has done the damage’, but he got his phone out and put it to my face and he started calling me a ‘black witch’ he is constantly mocking me for my face I have melasma on my face he put the phone to my face and he was saying all sorts of obscenities.
As that was happening I said ‘you have sprayed my car, this is what you have done to my car’ at that time the police were still on the phone. He called me a ‘bacon basher’ and he has said it many times – it means that I’m going out with somebody who is white and it wasn’t the first time I have heard that.
He walked past my car and he went to get into his car but then came towards me while I was in the middle of the car park. He had a phone out and videoed me and got out of the car. I just remember I had on this Louis Vuitton tote bag but he pulled my bag and he dragged me to the floor and I remember falling and rolling – banging my head.
I tried to get up and I remember getting up but the next thing was my head was being bashed on a car and he had hold of me putting my head against a car. One of the staff came up to me and said ‘are you okay?’ and I remember David was holding him down. I had a grazing on my arm, my elbow, my knees were bruised and were grazed, my head my head hurt, my leg was a bit stiff. “
Mr Ahmad told the hearing:
“I said that she does witchcraft and she is the queen of witchcraft it is the truth she actually does witchcraft she’s known for it and her family is known for it. She was following me and I kept saying ‘please don’t follow me’ when I was walking to my car.
She kicked me and I let that go but then when she was following me she said I was bitter and twisted and that really upset me so I said ‘you perform witch craft and the marks are on your face’. I said ‘this is part of the problem she’s got’, because I feel like she’s not moved on.
I was leaving the gym but she just stood in front of the car she wouldn’t move. My opinion was that Perveen had the phone and that she had it in her bag I approached her and said just give me my phone back and she said ‘no, I’m going to take the evidence off it’, even though the evidence was against them not against me.
I went towards her and tried to grab the bag off her I pulled the bag, she resisted, I pulled harder and she fell to the floor at that time my primary concern was just to get the phone out the bag and I tried to push her away but there wasn’t a lot of space and her head hit the car. I protected myself I have never raised my hand to a woman.”
Mr Ahmad was then found guilty of assault by beating and criminal damage and will be sentenced shortly.
