Social media erupts over Jo Swinson’s Husband Soros cash links

Since UNN broke the story that Jo Swinson’s husband, former MP Duncan Hames, works for an organisation that receives funding from George Soros’s Open Society organisation social media has been set ablaze. Conclusion:

Firstly we must acknowledge that Transparency International are in fact fully transparent about their funding sources. They give a thorough breakdown of where money is received from and salaries of employees and doing what they do this is to be commended. However where people do have a concern is in relation to Jo Swinson and her Husband and what is perceived to be a lack of transparency and questioning by the mainstream media. Many are angry at Jo Swinson’s policy to cancel Brexit entirely if the Lib Dem’s assumed power and their controversial slogan ‘Bollocks to Brexit.’ Many within the moderate remain camp who have pushed for a second referendum are also outraged at this policy, such as Anna Soubry, they regard the Lib Dem policy of unilaterally cancelling Brexit as extreme and anti-democratic. Opinion Polls are also starting to show this policy backfiring with the Liberal Democrats dropping 5% in the latest poll by Opinium.

With Mr Hames work it is in black and white that he receives 69k per annum and that as the Husband of Jo Swinson will see this go into the Swinson household. George Soros and his Open Society Foundation are controversial in that they are second largest individual philanthropic organisation in the world second to only that of Bill Gates. Mr Soros recently invested $17 billion of his own money into the organisation. Some countries such as Hungary and Russia have gone so far as to stop the organisation working in their countries claiming it undermines national sovereignty.

George Soros has donated over £800,000 to Best for Britain which was co-founded by Gina Miller. He is expressly against Brexit and has significantly funded organisations campaigning against it. Open Society cannot be seen to be an impartial organisation when it comes to Brexit.

There is no suggestion of any financial impropriety taking place on Mr Hames part or Ms Swinson’s part and it is important to stress this.

There is however a sense that senior individuals in the political world can be rewarded for their political views with jobs. Look at former senior Number 10 adviser Olly Robbins who is now working for Goldman Sachs, a massive donor to the remain campaign. Political nepotism in the corporate world is a major problem in the UK and must be looked at and exposed.

Serious questions have to be asked but perhaps the most troubling aspect of this is the total silence from the mainstream media. The media has constantly been pushing accusations about Boris Johnson and his relationship with the businesswoman Jennifer Acuri. All people ask is that broadcast media do their job and abide by rules of impartiality but yet again we can see the blatant hypocrisy exposed.
