Tricked by Treaty-The Boris Brexit Betrayal

Opinion Piece by Tina Brooker-
This week brought the fourth delay to Britain leaving the EU.   Yes it is official Brexit is postponed (yet again) until January 31st, Boris wrote (and signed) a letter accepting the EU’s “flextension” at a cost of £1bn a month to the taxpayer with a condition attached that the Withdrawal Agreement (Surrender Treaty) cannot be re-opened.

Boris Johnson finally gets his Christmas wish to hold a General Election on December 12 under the guise of ending the “Brexit deadlock”.

It will now be dawning on Brexiteers that Prime Minister Johnson and Dominic Cummings did not have a magic trick up their sleeve, this was merely another establishment delaying tactic, a STITCH UP resulting in a reheated version of Mrs May’s Surrender Treaty being served up as Brexit – hailed by the establishment led media as a “fantastic new deal” hard fought for and won by Boris and his team against all the odds.

Except that it wasn’t – Jeremy Corbyn revealed in the house that this “deal” was one previously offered by the EU to Theresa May which she refused stating it was “not good enough” no Prime Minister would agree to hive off part of the United Kingdom!

So Boris Johnson and his adviser Dominic Cummings have lied to us they literally took the screwed up papers out of the No.10 bin straightened them out and offered it to the nation as Brexit.  Shame on them!

We now have a feeling of deja vu as we head into another election,  Boris Johnson buoyed up by the fact that he is polling 15 points ahead of Labour – lets not forget when Theresa May called the 2017 General Election she held a 21 point lead stating she hoped to secure a larger majority to “strengthen her hand ” in the Brexit negotiations (she already held a majority at that point).

During the final weeks of the campaign the Conservatives’ lead diminished.   The Conservative Party made a net loss of 13 seats (whilst quietly placing remain MPs in heavily leave seats).   Many people, including myself concluded that as a staunch remainer she “threw” the GE to ensure Brexit became harder to deliver and looking at the carefully crafted chaos we have witnessed since it would seem that conclusion proved to be correct.

Monday 1st November dawns and Britain is still held captive by the EU and its fifth column within Parliament.

Nigel Farage’s Brexit party launch their election campaign at the Queen Elizabeth II Centre in London to great aplomb, the press gathered in anticipation of what was to be unveiled, it had all been kept carefully under wraps to ramp up the mystery and intrigue.

Chairman Richard Tice opens the meeting outlining their vision for Britain including wide political electoral reform and vowing to change once and for all the rotten politics of Westminster, but it was Ann Widdecombe who stole the show she spoke from the heart and with passion for the future of the country revealing the moment she knew that after 50 years she had to leave the Tory party and fight for the country she loved – I would urge everyone to watch her speech (link below).

Nigel was powerful and in fighting form urging Boris Johnson to “Ditch the Deal” which was the same bad old treaty which merely kicked the can down to road for a further 3 years.

It leaves Britain open to new EU laws without a voice, vote or veto and in large areas Britain remains under the auspices of the European Court of Justice.  The Political Declaration ties us up to future regulatory alignment to the EU from our financial services right through to our fisheries removing any chance to become competitive.  Boris’s deal gives us all of the burdens of EU membership but no say whatsoever, there will not be deals with the USA or indeed any other part of the world –  whilst handing away £39bn – that is NOT TAKING BACK CONTROL.  He stated “we now have the chance to press the reset button and go for a free trade agreement setting a deadline of 1st July, if the EU do not agree then he and Boris could go together to Geneva under  GATT24”.

I am sure that by now we have all worked out that Boris will NOT accept any pact, why should he, the Brexiteer vote is already “IN THE BAG”.  From current polling it would appear his strategy has fooled a majority of  Brexit voters back to the Conservative party, he doesn’t need to worry about them any more.

As outlined in the Times, he is now moving on to the Liberal vote and will be standing in this General Election on a manifesto promise of delivering his “fantastic new deal”.  He has already returned the whip to remain MPs who worked against Brexit – this speaks volumes about his intentions.

But Nigel stated at his election launch If Boris doesn’t agree to “ditch the deal” and form a “Leave Alliance” then every household in the land WILL be informed of what his so called “deal” contains and what it means for the country including its timescale – HE WILL MAKE SURE OF THAT.

Once again for the Conservatives (including the ERG) it is all about party over country.   Boris is copying Theresa May’s tactic and going into an election on a platform of “let’s get Brexit done” hoping we have been brow beaten enough into believing him.THIS TREATY IS NOT BREXIT it is REMAIN minus our representatives.   How many times can the electorate be fooled with this false Tory narrative?

It is clear that Nigel’s Brexit party must now stand candidates in all 406 Leave constituencies given that all 3 major parties are now parties of remain – a sell out by the establishment MUST BE FOUGHT WITH ALL OUR MIGHT.

After all we have been through since 2016 we MUST NOT return the status quo to Parliament – WE MUST CHANGE POLITICS FOR GOOD.
