TV Star Ant Middleton ‘Cancelled’ for sharing criticism of Black Lives Matter movement

Ant Middleton has been removed from a charity football match after sharing a tweet which branded rioters at a Black Lives Matter demo “scum”. The star of Channel 4 hit SAS: Who Dares Wins was a second half substitute in Soccer Aid last year and was expected to start in this years match as well.

It has not been confirmed as to whether organisers acted at the request of other players or to protect the image of the event, which raises cash for Unicef. Middleton, 39, caused a social media storm by retweeting a message that referred to BLM activists as “scum”. The ex-Special Forces soldier later apologised, saying he supported the movement. But he said he was compelled to condemn what he considered violent scenes in London in June.

Royal Navy chiefs had planned to drop him from his role as the Volunteer Cadet Corps’ chief cadet but changed their minds after protests.

Soccer Aid has raised £38million for Unicef since singer Robbie Williams founded it in 2006.

It is also being reported that one of his co-stars on the hit show has been dropped as all 4 instructors are white and it was said to not be diverse enough.
