UNN Community launch mass complaints over child rapist being spared jail

Dear Readers,

Can we just say a huge thank you to everyone who has emailed the Attorney General Suella Braverman over the sentence given to child rapist Callum Haycock at Worcester Crown Court on 1st October for the rape of a 5 year old child. This story has sickened everyone across our community and we are sure any decent person.

Our Political Analyst Tina Brooker has sent the below:

FAO The Rt Hon Suella Braverman QC

I am writing to request that you review the sentence handed down to Callum Haycock at Worcester Crown Court on 1st October, for the rape of a 5 year old child.  He was sentenced to just 3 years community service, with 5 years on the Sexual Offenders Register. There was no custodial sentence.

This sentencing level is grossly inadequate for an adult convicted of extreme sexual violence towards a very young child. It does not begin to reflect the seriousness of the offence, it cannot serve as any deterrent to others, and it does not even adequately provide for proper levels of oversight and monitoring in the years ahead.  I therefore believe that this sentence is unduly lenient. I ask that this case be referred to the Court of Appeal.

I would further request that a full investigation take place into the Judge’s ability to hold such a highly respected and powerful position.  The very fact that he/she believed that this was an appropriate sentence to hand down for a crime as heinous as this one is to say the least highly questionable.  The justice system has failed this little girl and her family, an appalling travesty of justice, it is therefore of utmost importance that this be reviewed and corrected as a matter of urgency.

I look forward to hearing from you shortly.
Kindest regards.
Miss Tina Brooker

I am very disturbed to hear that the paedophile who raped a 5 year old, only got community service, a small fine and order to pay compensation of a paltry £2,500 to a what is really, let us be honest  a child just out of babyhood. He is walking around the streets free to offend again. Who knows what the next innocent will be subjected to? Also the brave little girl actually testified. I hope she doesn’t end up going through her life with PTSD or other psychiatric disturbances. The trial took place in Kidderminster.
What most of us who come from ordinary families and are shocked at this want to know who was the judge? Did he have some kind of sympathy for this type of crime? Will he be investigated and will the the man who was let off with community service be retried and given a jail term for this sickening crime? While I know approximately a million girls have been sexually assaulted and the criminals not even been tried, the scandals seem to be covered up. Is this to be the future for the British Isles? Tolerance of paedophilia?
Please let me know who the judge was and whether you will be investigating the case?

Please can EVERYONE email correspondence@attorneygeneral.gov.uk and let’s get justice for the young girl and her family.
