On the 1st November 2021, a petition went live on the Parliament website to “Prohibit employers from requiring staff to be vaccinated against Covid-19”. (https://petition.parliament.uk/petitions/599841)
Within three weeks it quickly hit the required target of 100,000 signatures to trigger a debate in Parliament. To date, it has now surpassed 150,000 signatures and is growing fast, but that is still not nearly enough.

Source: https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-10190187/Care-home-chaos-commences-60-000-staff-sacked-overnight.html Once you factor in dentists, domiciliary workers and medical personnel from the private sector, you begin to understand the full scale of the problem. These are medical personnel who have worked for 22+ months during the height of the pandemic, many with substandard PPE, and are now being forced to choose between bodily autonomy and their own careers. Why are they suddenly a threat to patients from the 1st April?
Where there is risk, there must always be choice. The Covid-19 “vaccines” are still in clinical trials until 2023 and are being issued under Emergency Use Authorisation; they are not yet fully licensed for general use. In particular, the Pfizer and Moderna vaccines are based on novel mRNA technology, which until 2020 had never been used in humans before. The medium and longer term effects are not known. Some of the short term risks which have been identified include myocarditis, blood clots, strokes, heart attacks, and a plethora of neurological disorders including Bell’s Palsy and Guillain-Barre syndrome. Perhaps the most crucial point is that the Covid-19 vaccine does not stop one from catching SARS-CoV2 (the virus which causes Covid-19) or from transmitting the virus onto others. Indeed, it was reported in the British Medical Journal that, “Adults who have been fully vaccinated against SARS-CoV-2 can carry the same viral load of the delta variant as those who are unvaccinated,” – Source: https://www.bmj.com/content/374/bmj.n2074
It is frankly bizarre and illogical that from 1st April 2022, a fully vaccinated medical professional would still be allowed to work (even though they may be potentially carrying the virus), but an unvaccinated medic (who is Covid-negative and may already have natural immunity), would not. Why is the NHS not considering pre-existing natural immunity as an alternative to the vaccine mandate? Testing for pre-existing antibodies when offering Hepatitis B vaccine is a principle already applied for NHS staff, and so it would therefore seem logical to apply the same test with Covid.
I have no doubt that if this mandate goes ahead on 1st April, it will be the very thin end of wedge. What is to stop the government extending the vaccine mandates beyond NHS and care staff, and onto all of the public sector? It is entirely possible given the ever creeping mission shift. I still remember “three weeks to flatten the curve”, put out by the PM back on 23rd March 2020. Are we heading towards a medical totalitarian state? One only needs to look as far as our neighbours over the channel in France, to see how disastrous their Covid-19 mandates and vaccine passports have been for healthcare and society at large.
