Zelensky visit shows urgent need to re-assess UK government Ukraine policies

We can no longer afford to Ukraine’s magic money tree

Casualty figures show the UK government is complicit in the carnage on the front lines

The President Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, visited the UK yet again on Thursday 10th October) to seek (demand) more aid and support.

The Prime Minister, Sir Keir Starmer, welcomed him as if Ukraine was a longstanding and useful ally of the UK.

It isn’t either. The current pro-Ukraine, anti-Russia policies of the UK government have no mandate from the electorate and are not in British interests.

The spending of billions on weaponry and aid for Ukraine with UK taxpayers’ money is a key reason why the government is not paying the standard winter fuel allowance to pensioners this year. The Ukraine policy is a wasteful drain on the UK’s resources.

The sanctions against Russia are only harming the UK, with the huge effect on rising costs of living and energy.

Zelensky himself is no longer a legitimate President as elections have been “postponed” in Ukraine and his official term of office finished some weeks ago.

Ukraine has had at least £12.8 bn in UK military and other aid since the start of the conflict in February 2022.

That is at least 0.4bn per month! This does not include other costs such as the over 300,000 Ukrainian refugees in the UK, another approximate £1bn per year.

Zelensky’s “Victory Plan” should be called out for what it is, a sham to shake more money  out the UK magic money tree!

Zelensky discussed his so called “Victory Plan” with Keir Starmer and other officials such as the NATO Secretary General, and it is surprising that it appears he has a voice in our UK foreign policies. A key discussion point was allowing British supplied missiles to be fired deep into Russian territory. It was stated that this decision is dependent on a USA decision on their missiles. Whatever the outcome, to even consider such a step is highly reckless as these missiles cannot be operated by anyone except British and American operators. It would be considered an act of war by Russia, meaning British military installations could be targeted, and that would start off a world war.

All for what? Why take all these risks for no discernible benefit for the UK?

Pointless and tragic loss of lives

Fuelled by government complicity in media lies and misinformation

What is so tragic about the Ukraine conflict is the lies and misinformation the public have been fed by the government and the mainstream media from the day it started.

One of the key lies is the grotesque casualties alleged only apply to the Russian military.

It in fact applies to both sides, but the proportion of Ukraine casualties since the start of the conflict is estimated to be at least 1.6 million men.

The up to date casualty figures for this year have been provided by James De Burghe who has added some comments later.

It is no wonder that so many Ukrainian men are refugees in other countries, and that daily those still in country try to escape over the borders.

Ukrainians are left with nothing to fight for

It is important to question what this horrendous loss of life is for?

Is it to take back the four territories now in Russian hands, who have since voted to become part of Russia?

Realistically, there is no way that is ever going to change.

Is it to join NATO? Again, that isn’t going to happen, and some NATO members have said they would veto it anyway.

Is it to end corruption? No, Ukraine remains one of the most corrupt countries in the world.

Is it to defend democracy, freedom of speech, of the media, of religious worship? Because none of that now exists in Ukraine.

Is it to defend tolerance of nationalities, cultures and languages? No, Ukraine has intolerant laws, especially against the Russian language.

Nazi ideology is prevalent in some Ukraine military units such as the Azov, reminiscent of the Second World War, when thousands of Ukrainians fought on the German side and took part in some terrible atrocities.

Is it to defend the land, industries, and businesses? Huge proportions of these have been sold of to foreign interests, especially major hedge funds like Black Rock.

Ukraine is in massive debt and could not survive a month without continued foreign support and finance.

The continuance of this conflict only worsens the situation for Ukraine. In contrast Russia is in a strong position economically and militarily.

The only conclusion is that those put in the front lines are fighting not for Ukraine interests, but those of globalist corporations.

These vested interests have so much power they can ensure governments such as the USA and UK and others work in their interests.

So, the countries concerned pour all these financial and military resources into Ukraine using their taxpayers money and very little financial input comes from the corporations themselves, who have invested in Ukraine.

European nations in particular have been impoverished by their governments’ policies on Ukraine ( policies not followed by the majority of other countries in the world).

Time to end the Zelensky begging bowl madness now

The visit of Zelensky is a very appropriate time to stop the madness and to do a raincheck.

UK policies have pushed Russia away from us and other Western countries towards communist China and other countries.

It is in the UK’s interests to have good access to the vast array of minerals, energy and agricultural resources available in Russia.

We must free the region of conflict to ensure we have full access to what Ukraine can supply too.

Ending this conflict is in our interests and will bring costs of living and energy costs down.

Former Prime Minister Boris Johnson made a fatal decision is scuppering the peace deal between Russia and Ukraine back in the spring of 2022.

This was with no authority from the British people or from Parliament.

It was a tragic mistake. It caused the economy damage with many other consequences.

One of these was the totally pointless slaughter of thousands of men on the front lines.

The policies of aggression and sanctions have failed and must end. In the UK’s case, the government must change to a neutral stance and play a role as a peacemaker.

There is no mandate from the UK public on this Ukraine/Russia policy and if necessary, there should be a referendum on it.

The figures for this article have been kindly provided by James De Burghe, a former Royal Marines Officer and government advisor. He is currently a military and strategic analyst with extensive military and government contacts with those countries involved in the Russia/Ukraine conflict.

He has added the following comments:

The controversy over Ukraine losses in 2022 still makes an overall assessment of Ukraine losses difficult, but by our reckoning Ukraine has lost

1,6 million men to date including the people’s militia losses of 2022 where the under 26 and over 60 volunteers were destroyed in huge numbers, Ukraine does not recognise them as part of its armed forces, pays no benefits to widows and orphans of these men and often tries to claim they all deserted to Russia. They were armed with old weapons and wore plastic helmets and tried to storm Russian positions en masse and died en masse.

The Aircraft losses referred to is straightforward Ukraine or Russian warplanes either destroyed by other aircraft or by air defence measures.

Regarding boats Ukraine uses both manned and unmanned boats to attack Crimea and to try to cross the Dnieper river. Russia used them to patrol and dominate the lower Dnieper in the Kherson region. We record the losses of both sides.

Ships refers to Russian or Ukraine ships destroyed by military action.

including merchant ships carrying munitions.

The ebb and flow of Russian casualties does depend upon the type of battle they are fighting, Russia always loses more men when clearing cities and towns – but that is matched by increases Ukraine losses.

The Ukraine attack on Kursk region initially consisted of 10 brigades

(20,000 men). They have attempted to reinforce these men with 5 more brigades The miscalculation of Russian deployments and reserves caused by bad intel meant they walked into a pocket that was quickly surrounded by over 200,000 Russian troops. So far Ukraine has lost over 20,000 men and all the tanks and armoured vehicles it committed to this operation.

The recent attack on Crimean oil storage was impressive as a spectacle but in reality, did not cause any major shortage – affecting around 2% of the oil storage facilities on Crimea.”
