Majud Hussain aged 41, was a Police Officer who assaulted a 17-year-old girl in the back of his car after picking her and a 14-year-old up in Long Eaton, Derbyshire, and taking them to McDonald’s last July.
Hussain, who dealt with victims of domestic abuse, told the pair he was a firefighter and later tried to justify his actions by saying his victim had ‘seduced him’.
Hussain, who stay’s in Wilford Lane, Nottingham, worked for the Leicestershire Police and was found guilty of two counts of assault by penetration and two counts of sexual assault on a female.
During his trial at Nottingham Crown Court, the jury heard that CCTV tracked his car and evidence was found at the scene. The court heard he pulled the girl’s leggings and pants down before sexually assaulting her.
During the trial Hussain, the sexual predator, said the girl tried to seduce him but the jury rejected his claims.
After the case, Detective Chief Inspector Kev Broadhead, of Nottinghamshire Police, said:
The sentence given to Hussain today is right because it’s right that someone who commits crimes like this receives a long custodial sentence. The fact that he was a police officer when he assaulted this girl makes it all the more disturbing – he should have been a person to be trusted. The victim, in this case, has shown a huge amount of courage and I hope that she can find some solace in knowing that Hussain is behind bars.”
