At least fourteen people have been injured in an attack on a busy bus, in a northern city in Germany, local media reports. German police say several people have been hurt in the incident in Luebeck, and a suspect has been arrested. There are reports he also had a ‘smoking backpack’ which could have been a suicide bomb that failed to detonate.
Police spokesperson Duerk Duerbrook said the attack occurred in the Kuecknitz district of Luebeck….. Duerbrook said authorities were still trying to determine the circumstances of the attack. Police were at the scene within minutes of the first emergency calls being made and claims the man is of Iranian origin and in his 30s.
This comes as analysis published by the globally respected Heritage Foundation that shows the true extent of murders and deaths suffered by the people of Europe as a result of the open borders policies of the EU and Angela Merkel.
The total number of people murder or injured on European soil is well in excess of 1000 people with the majority being carried out by asylum seekers and refugees from an Islamic background.
The research showed that asylum seekers were involved in 32 of 194 terror attacks that have hit Europe in the last four years with 357 deaths and 1,678 injuries.
Between January 2014 and December 2017, the attacks by migrants who were also seeking asylum were responsible for 182 of the fatalities and 814 injuries.
The blame of the report for these deaths lies solely and squarely with the open doors policy of German Chancellor Merkel who now faces a huge backlash from both her coalition partners the CSU and also the opposition AfD.
The Heritage Foundation’s counter terror expert Robin Simcox said in conclusion: “Ill-conceived immigration policies have made it easier for [jihadists] to strike the fall-out from the decision to take in such a large amount of unvetted people in such a short time will continue for decades to come.
Europe has faced a severe threat from Islamist terrorism for years. Yet Chancellor Merkel’s decision to open Germany’s borders in 2015 unfortunately increased that threat.
While only a minority of asylum seekers pose a security risk, the plots carried out by those exploiting migrant routes – in Paris, London, Berlin, Stockholm and elsewhere across Europe – demonstrate that even a low number of extremists can still cause huge amounts of damage,” said the report, which urged EU leaders to reduce risk by minimising the number of migrants the continent imports from conflict areas scarred by Islamic extremism.
European leaders were either naïve about the risks or failed to communicate honestly with the public the impact that accepting such large amounts of people would have on security.”
