Arthur Scargill backs Boris Johnson over Supreme Court

The controversial former leader of the National Union of Mineworkers, Arthur Scargill, has called on all socialists to oppose any Labour MPs wanting to stay in the European Union by reiterating the solid Marxist tradition of being against the EU.

At a recent meeting of the Left Wing Brexit Group Leave Fight Transform (LeFT) Scargill said “every single MP who wants us to go back into Europe should be opposed… that is my view, as a socialist, as a Marxist”.

Mr Scargill even criticised his long standing friend Jeremy Corbyn, for his Brexit u-turn from opposing the Lisbon Treaty to now creating a pro-EU Labour Party that is “indistinguishable from the 21 MPs who have left the Tory Party”.

He has now written a letter to The Times newspaper where he attacks those calling for the resignation of the PM and calling out their hypocrisy on this issue:

“I find it interesting that the leaders of the Labour Party, the Liberal Democrats and the Scottish National Party are all calling for the resignation of the Prime Minister and the Attorney General on the grounds that they acted unlawfully in advising the Queen to prorogue Parliament.

Are these party leaders also going to call for the resignation of Lord Burnett, the Lord Chief Justice; Sir Terence Etherton, the Master of the Rolls; and Dame Victoria Sharp, the President of the Queen’s Bench Division, who ruled that the Prime Minister acted legally?”

Mr Scargill joins figures from the traditional left such as George Galloway who are disgusted by the about face of the Labour Party and are increasingly lending their support to The Prime Minister in order to see Brexit delivered. They believe leaving EU industrial control means that once again the UK can look after its own workers, a view shared by many.
