At last, the NHS is ‘overwhelmed’
Mainstream media headlines this morning proclaimed that the NHS was overwhelmed. Is it overwhelmed with Covid cases? Is it overwhelmed catching up on its cancer backlog? No. It is overwhelmed giving people something that they do not need, and which does not work, for something that is less likely to kill them than being trampled to death by a herd of elephants.
Whatever the British government is doing, it’s working. People have had the Covid willies instilled in them so effectively that there is a mass panic to have a Covid booster. It must have been much to the relief of the government that the UK reported its first death from (with) Covid. So far, we know nothing about this unfortunate person. Were they 19 or 90, what comorbidities did they have, and did they catch Covid in hospital? But this was exactly the boost that was needed to turn up the fear dial further. And from 800 cases at the start of the week we have reports now that there ‘may’ be 200,000 people infected with the omicron variant. Yes, indeed, they may be…but they may also not be. And if there are, it hardly matters. Doctors in South Africa think we have gone insane here in the UK. They reiterate that the omicron variant is mild, they are not witnessing an increase in hospitalisations and they have no reported deaths.
With perfect timing—you could be forgiven for thinking that all this was planned—our ‘health’ secretary Sajid Javid announces that booster vaccines will be required in order for people to be classified as fully vaccinated. Presumably the NHS vaccine app, which many who must travel abroad for their work have, will be disabled and they will be forced to take a booster, or lose their livelihood. Having denied that vaccine passports would be required within our shores—Sajid Javid even proclaimed they had been ‘ditched’—for the first time in our history, vaccine passports are required for an arbitrary range of venues. The language has been altered this month to describe these as ‘Covid passes’. Will the government announce that UK passports are now to be described as ‘border passes’? I doubt it.
Predictions are always dangerous and, as I said earlier this week in these pages, if you want to know how good predictions are likely to be then see how successful they have been in the past. To date the UK government and its advisers have been demonstrably wrong regarding Covid predictions. Projected infections and deaths have consistently been vastly overestimated. However, here on the pages on Unity News Network we have been accurately predicting what will happen as a result of these ‘predictions’. ‘Freedom Day’ in July was nothing of the kind and such ‘freedoms’ as we were granted could not distract from the widespread medical, social and economic consequences of the Covid restrictions. Lockdown is back in all but name, masks are much in evidence and vaccine passports are a reality. I predict that when the government reviews the current measures before the end of the year that, at the very least, they will not be stopped regardless of the evidence related to the omicron variant and however many people have had boosters. At worst, and most likely, vaccine passports will be rolled out further, pubs and restaurants will be closed, and Christmas will be cancelled. If I am wrong, I will eat a mince pie (I hate mince pies!).
