Heritage Party Leader and London Assembly Member David Kurten has taken to Twitter to voice his concerns with the way the Metropolitan Police are acting under Mayor Sadiq Khan and Dame Cressida Dick.
Following over 150 arrests made by the Metropolitan Police at anti-lockdown protests in London, footage emerged on social media showing the police getting extremely physical with many of the people they arrest.
Responding to some of this footage, Mr Kurten shared a video showing clashes between police and anti-lockdown demonstrators in London.
He commented saying: “The Met Police under Khan and Dick are now a disgrace. They attack peaceful citizens rallying for freedom, but kneel before BLM Marxists and go softly-softly with the Extinction Rebellion rabble and anti-France hate mongers straight after the Paris Islamist terror attack.”

His Tweet posted around 10 hours ago, as of writing has 661 retweets and over 1,700 hearts, many people also took to the comments of the thread to give their opinions.
@postaltaxis replied to Mr Kurten saying: “You’re the only political figure tweeting the facts and truth at the moment, without fear. It’s a breath of fresh air. I still watch you forensically taking down Khan in Mayor’s questions. It always warms my heart.”
@lazlay wrote: “Its strange how heavy-handed the police deal with peaceful anti-mask protesters, yet they are totally subservient to violent #BLM activists. Please someone explain to me the reason for this two-tier approach.”
Others suggested that public support for the police would drop if they continued their approach to policing, @dawso45988809 wrote: “The majority respected them, now many will never respect or trust them again after this, they have alienated us, they listened to BLM, XR, but not us, nothing’s changed, bridges burnt, trust or respect won’t return, not one journalist or MP speaks for us now.”
