Gary Lineker ROASTED for his love of ‘FREE-MOVEMENT!’

Controversial BBC Match of the Day licence fee funded political activist Gary Lineker has caused uproar on Twitter with his latest tweets coming under scrutiny that endorse the continued ‘free movement’ of people across Europe.

Lineker is paid upwards of £1.75 million per annum of licence fee cash and also has a number of additional contracts with Walker’s crisps, BT and others with many questioning his motives.

In his latest tweet Lineker questions why ending the ability of UK workers to freely move to the EU would be a good thing? Studies have shown that the majority of UK citizens who got work in the EU are well off and in highly paid jobs whereas the majority of EU workers that come to the UK tend to be in lower paid jobs that disproportionately affect earnings for the less well off- one of the major reasons the country voted for Brexit.

Lineker was met with a hostile response in the comments section as you can see below:

Lineker has spoken out about why he feels he has a privileged position in the Brexit debate:

Lots of people tell me I should stay out of the Brexit debate. ‘What’s it got to do with you?’ they say to me.

It would certainly be easier and a lot less hassle. But it wouldn’t be the right thing to do.

I care about this country. It’s the only one we’ve got and when I see it in great peril, I want to do what I can to help.

I’m not ashamed to be a patriot and neither should you be. And patriots don’t let their country fall over the cliff edge.”

The BBC have been forced to confirm that political neutrality rules do not apply to Lineker stating:

“Gary is not involved in any news or political output for the BBC and as such any expression of his personal political views does not affect the BBC’s impartiality.”
