As we approach the local council elections on the 2nd of May the Police are investigating Fraud in connection with Derby City Council elections.
Derby News has just published the following:
There are reports that Police are investigating allegations of postal vote fraud in Abbey Ward, relating to next week’s Derby City Council elections, involving a Labour Party volunteer.

A Police Spokesperson has confirmed the allegations saying: “We have received a report of an incident of alleged election fraud relating to the upcoming Derby City Council elections. We take allegations of this nature very seriously and investigations are under way. Anyone with any similar concerns should call us on 101.”
A statement from Derby City Council said: “Derby City Council’s returning officer is working closely with Derbyshire Constabulary in respect of the arrangements for next month’s local elections. All elections should be conducted fairly and with the highest levels of integrity. As such, the council treats seriously any allegations of electoral fraud. An investigation is currently under way, so it is inappropriate to offer further comment at this time.”
