Actor Lawrence Fox has slammed the United Nations after they put a Tweet on their social media page claiming, “what you say matters,” urging people to think about the gender pronouns they call people.
Taking to Twitter, the official account of the United Nations wrote: “What you say matters. Help create a more equal world by using gender-neutral language if you’re unsure about someone’s gender or are referring to a group. https://unwomen.org/en #GenerationEquality via @UN_Women”.
Responding to this, Mr Fox wrote on his own Twitter page saying: “Apparently it took all afternoon to come up with this tweet. #powerful #rich #stunning #brave #yawn”.

Mr Fox gained some prominence in the British political scene after his appearance on the BBC’s questions time. He was mocked for being a straight white man during the televised debate.
The comments on the post by Mr Fox tended to agree with him, one man named Peter Fox wrote: “The United Nations @UN and World Health Organisation @WHO really are just overfunded student unions which the average person shouldn’t be paying into”.
David Millett commented pointed out what he appeared to see as hypocrisy, he questioned: “As they are the United Nations, have they done this for all 6,500 spoken languages or are they just picking on English?”
Sean Govostes did not agree with the UN’s outlook on gender pronouns, he wrote: “Enough of this. Some of us have had our full. I’m old. What I say or write is never meant out of malice. I write and say what I do due to an upbringing of a sane language and comprehension.”
Another Twitter user named Andrew Devine questioned the priorities of the UN, he said: “Wouldn’t you think top of UN’s priority list might be ending 2nd class status of women in Islamic countries, including horrific ‘honour’ killings & child marriage instead of coming over all Justin Trudeau & lecturing the Anglosphere about the importance of saying peoplekind?”
