Lockdown – rewriting Orwell’s 1984

By K. Rye:

As we approach the gradual return to a “new normality”, I grow increasingly incredulous at the levels of hysteria at which we now find ourselves, as Covid crackpottery reaches its apex, and with devastating irony the so-called “R” curve flattens. This whole subject is riddled with conflicting conflations, rash decisions and Governmental stupidity on a level previously unseen in this country.

What is even more disturbing is the level of venom emanating from the mainstream media, both newspaper and TV – and the even more outrageous behaviour of the Wokeist moronocracy, who have seized on this as yet another channel for their ludicrous outpourings of mind vomit. (Apparently Covid is “racist”). Also their rabid death threats directed at high-level so-called “lockdown breakers” such as Dominic Cummings. Their raw hatred calls into question the decreasing levels of sanity of individuals with such a tenuous grip on reality.

It’s yet another opportunity to keep the conduit of cultural Marxism fully stocked with their specialist brand of self-hate and ludicrous ideology.

As for conspiracy theorists –  the other Collective of Cucks we have had our ears bent by during this Shamdemic, we have run the whole gamut – from Covid-emitting 5G transmitters to David Icke’s batshit (pardon the pun) theories. Whole swathes of social media wallahs have bought into this crap and crackerbarrel conspiracy theory is now enjoying a whole new audience of rapt lockd

own lemmings, who it seems are ready to hurl themselves – and the rest of us – into a pit of oblivion and despair.

However, I am seriously concerned about how the mainstream media has degenerated into previously unfathomed depths of scaremongering, deliberately misleading headlines, race-baiting, finger-pointing and outright lies, so much so that I have long since stopped buying newspapers and now avoid mainstream news and current affairs programmes like the plague (again, no tasteless pun intended).

At street level, the lockdown has created more problems than it aimed to solve, with cancelled operations, suicides, lost jobs and businesses and an economy in nosedive. Add to that the mental health of people who haven’t seen another soul in weeks, spiralling domestic and child abuse – and we must consider the prospect of decades of extricating ourselves from this dystopian nightmare.

Frighteningly, it seems we have also now created a nation of paranoid curtain-twitchers, cowering behind their nets, reporting on neighbours’ “transgressions”  – and social media has now reached a level of witch-huntery Matthew Hopkins would be proud of. The pitchfork prima donnas have just stopped short of pricking moles and checking for the presence of black cats on neighbours’ garden walls.

Every town and village now has a preponderance of quivering wrecks, hanging on to every single word uttered on the “daily briefings”, or as I call them, the “two minutes’ hate”. I find this kind of televisual tedium (which I do NOT watch daily) mind-numbingly repetitive and the constant “warnings” on devices, the buzzwords and phrases and the towering figure of Nanny State that looms out of our “telescreens” utterly demoralising.

I personally couldn’t give a monkey’s if Fred Bloggs at number 11 has made ten trips to B&Q and back in one day, nor do I give a rat’s ass if Doris next door had her grandchildren around to visit. After all, if she’s been self-isolating for weeks and so have her family, who the hell else’s business is it?

To be perfectly honest, I am not alone in thinking and saying that this whole business has gone on too long and neither am I the only one who is deeply sceptical about the way in which the COVID death figures have been recorded.

With scientists and doctors right across the world conflicting, who are politicians to make these kinds of monumental decisions? And WHO is in control of “The Science” at global level? Certainly not! The World Health Organisation has far from covered itself in glory.

I am personally appalled at the way the handling of this crisis appears to have affected far more people and devastated more lives than if it had been approached in a calm and sensible manner instead of the worldwide panic stations whose inconsistency across the globe has been truly shocking. The aforementioned WHO, UN and a whole host of other organisations the public have previously considered to be the “good guys” have now shown themselves highly incompetent and run by questionable Common Purpose robots. (But WE always knew that, didn’t we?)

When I think of how people struggled through world wars and the pandemics of previous years, WITHOUT buzzwords, safe spaces, social media, self-appointed moral guardians and conspiracy theorists, I shudder with embarrassment to contemplate all those who are within living memory of it and whom we have now kept under lock and key for the best part of three months, even denying them the right to sit and contemplate in their local Church if they wish to.

And that’s another thing; the Church has gone through centuries of war, famine, destruction and devastation and not once have people been denied the right to worship in their parish churches, or to enjoy quiet contemplation in a safe and familiar place. Until now.

Another aspect of this crisis that has been truly revealing is the levels to which we are now all subjected to the Orwellian ridicule and hatred  if we refuse to take part in ”groupthink”. And woe betide anyone who refrains from standing on their doorsteps on Thursday night hammering seven bells of virtue-signalling out of their best non-stick.

Go against the tide of public opinion on social media and you might as well have hurled yourself head first into a pool of piranha. The Twitter troll feeding frenzy and the Facebook fishwives are in full overdrive.

Even George Orwell couldn’t have made this one up.

So who do I blame? Where do I start? To begin with, the public panicked over the initial news of the outbreak and clamoured for lockdown and the mainstream media, pack of screeching hyenas that they are, immediately jumped on this global bed-wetting panicdemic.

Boris, fresh from his election victory last December, seized with a bout of fervid carpe diem, jumped right on a now speed-gathering bandwagon and within hours had most of the population under virtual house arrest. Weeks later, we have a nation divided, yet again. There are the scared sheeple, hanging on every word Boris, Matt Hancock and the army of medics and scientists – collectively known as “The Science” utter; terrified to leave their homes without turning themselves into a PPE version of Darth Vader. On the other side of the fence – the neighbours who dared to sit in their front garden with a beer and worse still, where DID they go that night their car wasn’t on the drive? And the sheer audacity of not only visiting the garden centre, but being outside their own home, sorting out the flowerbed.

So what next? It’s simple: no economy, no NHS, no quality of life. FACT. If we don’t come out of this soon, God only knows what devastation this will wreak on future generations.

I’m more terrified of the prospect of more lockdown; more missed operations, more abused children, rocketing domestic violence stats, suicides, lost livelihoods, increasing numbers of depression cases and more DEAD people who somehow escaped the attentions of the over-zealous Lockdown Gestapo; you know, the ones issuing diktats about staying indoors and terrifying old people into self-imprisonment in the process.

And what about the ones who were not recorded as “vulnerable”? Those who were not allowed to loved ones’ funerals? Those who haven’t seen another soul for the best part of three months?

This is the most heinous act ever committed on the people of this country since the Second World War… and by our own Government, which, while keeping us imprisoned in our own homes, simultaneously allowed incoming flights of people who were not put into quarantine. A decision they have now, as lockdown exit strategy hangs in the balance, decided to reverse. You really couldn’t make it up!

They flew people in to do fruit-picking jobs before even bothering to offer those jobs to people already here who were furloughed; and meanwhile on the South Coast – allowed the French Navy to escort in hundreds more illegal migrants, whose journeys to our shore were completely unknown. They also flew in more migrants, to be reunited with their families whilst the rest of us were told to stay away from our kids, grandkids and in laws. This is a scandal of such magnitude, those of us who live on the South Coast are incredulous at the audacity of our Government ignoring this situation, which is lining the pockets of people traffickers, endangering lives and making a laughing stock of our country. Every day, people gain entry to our Channel coast undetected. Never mind the dangerous dinghy crossings.

So what next? HUGE and CONSTANT pressure on our MPs. It’s no good moaning that they don’t listen. Of course they don’t, if they have nobody to listen to outside of the electronic-gated, heavily guarded Westminster bubble. They need to be under constant bombardment. Bulging inboxes and postbags and demands for surgery meetings post-lockdown. It’s all we can do, as the only organisations that are allowed free speech (and zero “social distancing”) on the streets of Whitehall and Westminster these days are Antifa (anything but antifascist) and Black Lives Matter (a black version of KKK).

We gave them a hard time over Brexit. We must do so over this issue. Our freedoms were damned hard fought for. We must never surrender them again.
