UNN’s Oliver Down has learnt that Melinda Gates began exploring options for divorce from Bill Gates nearly two years ago. This is around the time when reports emerged that Bill had met many times with Jeffrey Epstein, the convicted sex offender who died in jail in the summer of 2019.
UNN brought you the news last week that Bill Gates and his wife Melinda were set to divorce. At the present time, it is not known why this is happening. However, yesterday, the Wall Street Journal stated that a former employee of the Gates Foundation has described Bill Gates’s dealings with Epstein as “one source of concern” for his wife.
In October 2019, the New York Times reported that “compared in prestige and power to the [then] world’s second-richest person, a brilliant and intensely private luminary: Bill Gates. And unlike many others, Mr Gates started the relationship after Mr Epstein was convicted of sex crimes.”
Last week, the Daily Beast reported that Melinda Gates had warned her husband about associating with Epstein in 2013. Yesterday, the Wall Street Journal cited court documents as proof that Melinda Gates spoke with legal advisers on a number of occasions around publication of the New York Times story in 2019.
A spokesman for Bill Gates has reacted to this story by saying: “I met him. I didn’t have any business relationship or friendship with him”. This paper said her legal team includes Robert Stephan Cohen, who is a New York divorce lawyer who has represented Michael Bloomberg and Ivana Trump.
