The MP for North Dorset and Chairman of the Northern Ireland Select Committee, Simon Hoare has slammed Piers Morgan claiming he is ‘not acting like a journalist’ but instead a ‘male chicken’.
Taking to Twitter to air his concerns with the public Mr Hoare wrote to his 12,000 followers saying: “I’m afraid @piersmorgan is not acting as a journalist. As a barrack room lawyer? Yes. As a saloon bar bore? Yes. As a bully? Yes. As a show-off? Undoubtedly. He is not a seeker after truth: he’s a male chicken”.
Good Morning Britain host Piers Morgan has come under fire recently for his coverage of the coronavirus pandemic with many claiming he was seeking to bully government Minister he had on the show. Ofcom received over 1,000 complaints in relation to an interview between Mr Morgan and the Minister for Women and Equalities, the regulator has decided against acting on the complaints.
In the comments section of Mr Hoare’s Tweet, many flocked to share their two cents on the matter, many agreed with the MP and many others did not.
One Twitter username Garry jokingly wrote: “How dare you comparing @piersmorgan to a Barrack room lawyer. Barrack room lawyers have some knowledge of what their talking about unlike @piersmorgan who just screeches rubbish all the time.”

Another user wrote: “Actually that’s an insult to male chickens! Piers Morgan is now officially the BULLY of the Media! And the sad thing is he thinks it’s a badge of honour! I believe he has a daughter I wonder how would he feel if she was bullied verbally like he is doing especially towards women.”
Mrs K agreed with Mr Hoare’s conclusion writing: “He’s a seeker of attention. Not truth and he’s using this traumatic time to put himself in the spotlight. Despicable man.”
Other social media users thought Piers Morgan was doing his job and attempting to hold the government to account, Brexit Guard wrote: “He is raising legitimate criticisms of the government. Politicians criticising the media for criticising the government’s handling of a crisis is getting the priorities wrong.
“Please understand he does raise issues many have concerns about, including many conservative voters.”
Dandini had a different view all together claiming Mr Morgan had been a bully all through his career, she wrote: “It’s only fine when he’s doing it to someone else! Piers Morgan has been exactly the same for his whole career. Now suddenly it’s a problem?”
