Nigel Farage and the GMB presenter Piers Morgan had a heated spat on GMB this morning which resulted in Mr Farage accusing Morgan of ‘sinking to the gutter’. This was said in an interview that Farage has called ‘the lowest grade interview in 20 years’.
Appearing on ITV this morning live from the Trump Hotel in Washington, Mr Farage began the interview by calling Trump a ‘human dynamo’ and also put out a stark warning that the Democratic candidate Joe Biden was ‘unfit to be president’.
Mr Farage and Piers Morgan then clashed over Trump’s handling of the Coronavirus pandemic. Morgan began this section by saying: ‘I’m sorry, (Trump’s) handling of the pandemic has been an utter disaster, I said this to him the other day and that’s one of the reasons we had a little falling out. I thought his whole strategy of taking this so lightly, not dealing with it properly, has led to America having 220,000 deaths, the worst record by far of anywhere in the world’.
Farage responded to this by saying ‘nope, nope, nope’ he then went on to say ‘Piers you’re talking, I won’t use the word, you’re talking utter rubbish. Grow up, stop being fake news. Grow up and stop being fake news’.
Farage then doubled down by saying: ‘You are sinking to the gutter by talking about bleach, you know you are, yet you won’t back down. I did not hear anyone mention bleach, you could talk about acids in all sorts of different contexts if you wanted to. Stop talking utter rubbish’.
