In response to a great question from a UNN subscriber ‘how has the left managed to get a strong foothold in the UK after successive conservative governments’?
The reason can be explained through the authoritarian practice of controlled opposition. It’s the illusion of many choices for the electorate but with only a limited or specific set of outcomes. The illusion is demonstrated to the people through the mainstream parties incessant battling over domestic politics. We then go to the ballot box feeling that we have some democratic influence over real issues of importance and yet the real power lies with the European Union and its ability to completely change the social, industrial, agricultural and economic landscape of our country. Of course, the luxurious and affluent lifestyle of our politicians allows them to completely overlook the total lack of sovereignty and independence our country has. Only when we have been completely absorbed by the EU and are fully dependent on its handouts (which we supply) will the left be satisfied.
As the decades have passed our country has been in a state of rapid change. Since the signing of the Maastricht treaty, we have witnessed things happening in our country that once only existed through our television sets in foreign lands. The EU doesn’t offer stability; its ever-changing borders, its obsession with freedom of movement and mass immigration subjects its member states to permanent social and political change. The country in question must constantly adapt to the cultural needs and political beliefs of its newly established population; this leaves many people totally alienated by the system as it fails to address their concerns as it once did. Many of the new population have home countries that have been at war with our own. Never have we invaded a country whilst inviting its population to inhabit our own land. The result is quite obviously widespread anger and animosity towards our country and the west. Any objection to this is condemned as racist and the suppression of public opinion continues, and potential civil war grows closer.
This unrealistic leftist fairy tale flows directly from the top, the European Commission. The EU commission doesn’t allow contrasting beliefs in its circle, only those that are firmly on board with the EU superstate agenda. Everybody is appointed and not elected just like the personnel of the Supreme Soviet and other regimes. This uncompromising ideology has infiltrated all successive governments and its opposition since Edward Heath signed us up to the EEC without a democratic mandate in 1973. Financial perks and rewarding career with zero accountability inside the EU itself proved to good for many of our politicians and lords to turn down.
By the time Britain joined the EEC in 1973, the liberal elite was well established through the European Coal and Steel Community and similar institutions. Eurosceptics like Enoch Powell, Tony Benn and Peter Shore didn’t stand a chance. Interestingly after Enoch Powell’s famous river of blood speech in 1968 several polls in its aftermath declared an average of 74% of the UK population agreed with his views. This is in sharp contrast to the image the establishment painted of him. 1968 was a very different time and although we can clearly see his remarks to contain racism today, back in 1968 things weren’t as apparent to the average voter. Powell and the Eurosceptic position predicted that the EEC would turn into a political union with resulting mass immigration and the erosion of sovereignty. This had the purpose of facilitating the EU’s agenda of becoming a superstate. This is a prediction we cannot ignore and yet It was the opportunity the EU establishment had been waiting for, a racist in Britain that could be condemned to oblivion and in doing so abolish any valid Eurosceptic opinions associated with him at the same time. Again, the establishment and national media will not show or discuss the valid issues sensibly and continue to ignore the points made by all Eurosceptics at that time because of the racism linked to Powell. It is only in recent years that the EU has been forced to listen to Eurosceptic views.
In 1973 Edward Heath was still fearful of Eurosceptic support and signed the United Kingdom up to the EEC without a referendum or any democratic mandate from the people. This gave the government and successive government the chance to prove that two years inside the EEC wouldn’t change Britain for the worse and Eurosceptic views were false. The establishment did its job and predictably in 1975 we voted to remain a member of the EEC; a common market of prosperity, a solution to war and tyranny as well, fearful of ever repeating world war 2. Since then the British people haven’t had a single opportunity to oppose European agenda until 2016. That’s forty-one years of our elected leaders and appointed commissioners collaborating with Eurocrats in Brussels, taking oaths to serve the EU and a globalist agenda that we never asked for.
Our politicians have taken it upon themselves to decide what’s best for us whilst upholding and prioritising the interests of a federalized foreign entity. The neo-liberal leftist politics of the EU has consumed the entire British establishment, but thankfully we are starting to fight back.
