Left vs Right? Leave vs Remain? Whom vs Whom?

The Brexit debate grinds onwards, becoming more toxic and spiteful on a daily basis. Centuries old conventions are usurped without the merest flicker of doubt, political parties tear themselves into factionalism and recrimination tossing their established ideological foundations aside like used tissues.

For one moment, step back from the mudslinging and ask yourself what could cause conflict of this level? There have been grave and emotive political issues before and it didn’t foment this level of
tumult and division. So what is different about this debate that it can cleave relationships, families and political parties in two like an executioner’s axe.

The evidence presented here for this view comes from both left and right leaning authors, when taken in sum the picture emerges from the fog of the shrieking arguments that we are faced with a
sobering choice, the choice between freedom and tyranny. The freedom on offer is perhaps less salubrious than we might wish, it will almost certainly require a greater level of personal responsibility, self reliance and critical thinking than the glitzy, effortless, on-demand at the touch of a screen lifestyle that we are currently being invited to imprison ourselves within.

The claim that the EU is merely one stage of a far longer and more grandiose scheme, to even espouse these ideas was until recently regarded as swivel-eyed conspiracy lunacy. Luckily the Chief
of the Bank of England Mark Carney recently gave a speech at the Jackson Hole summit meeting that confirms this precise view. Mr Carney believes that the era of US dollar as a reserve currency is now drawing to an end and that the next monetary paradigm must be a global one world currency. The fact that Carney would come out with such a radical idea make it plain that those who are seeking this goal detect the stakes are now higher than ever and their window to fulfil their agenda is
closing.

I invite the reader to see the similarity, the EU imposed a single currency understanding entirely that political union would flow from it. They cleverly exploited the fact that every single economist of note stated categorically that a single currency could only function in Europe if there was deep political alignment as a precursor, so the EU then created the problem of monetary union and then demands the solution of political union by stealth. The subterfuge involved in engineering this defies description here and if you wish to understand just how sophisticated the machinations were I would recommend reading ‘The Rotten Heart of Europe’ by Bernard Connelly.

So fundamental is the EU’s central game plan of total federalisation that any opposition to it has to be destroyed, and here we begin to see why the pro-EU lobby is so powerful and all-pervasive,
because to question their hegemony would be fatal to their overall plan and so all opposition must not only be silenced but also disgraced and marginalised. You do not have to look far to find
examples of unimaginable brutality and cruelty being used against the oppressed. In almost all of these cases the actions are ‘justified’ by the oppressor because in some way the oppressed are
deemed to be less than human by some perverse definition which has been invented by the aggressor. You can find this dynamic in 30’s Germany, Rwanda and countless other trouble spots
around the world. Be in no doubt, the philosophy behind the hysterics and persecutory language from the ultra-remain sect are no different and these people are so utterly convinced of their
justification that they use these slanted categorisations to grant the leave voters second class status
in the new version of the world they aspire to bring about.

So here we see the source of the polarisation of the argument, the pro-EU lobby have been indoctrinating themselves for half a century that their worldview is not only morally and
economically superior but also a pathway to a future harmonious global community where nobody loses and everyone is happy. In fact this delusion is no less implausible than the idea that jihadists get 72 virgins to do as they wish with in heaven and I make no apology for drawing a parallel between EU and religious zealotry, from a psychological standpoint there is no difference.
If you want to prove this to yourself just look at the reactions of the remain lobby when their ideas are challenged and compare them with any of the religious zealots, their indignation that you could possibly think other than them and their instant disdain for not only your views but also your personality is a hallmark of both groups.

I have tried presenting logical argument to remain voters, I have shown them book after book after book and countless public documents which show how the European movement has had only one objective since its inception and that is to unify Europe politically under a single federal constitution. Their reaction in all cases is either refusal to even acknowledge the existence of such arguments or to dismiss them as the invention of malign actors.

The final conflict will be between truth and a utopian delusion of security and prosperity, the truth as I have explained is often a harsh place and demands much of those who seek it but the delusion is just that and when the deluded finally understand their misconception it will be far too late to go back.
