Unless you have been living off the grid you will have seen the howls of outrage against the fact that during an interview Anna Soubry was called a ‘Nazi’ and that Owen Jones was surrounded by a group of Yellow Vest ‘thugs’. 50 MP’s have since sent a letter to the Police demanding more protection and arrests have since followed. You will also have noticed the BBC going full in on this as well as Kay Burley of Sky News.
During that fateful day Ms Soubry made what many have regarded as highly inflammatory statements doubling down on previous remarks she had made about Brexit voters. Likewise Owen Jones was clearly heard using his frequently racially charged epithet of ‘Gammons’ in relation to Brexit supporters.
Now we have been made aware of a campaign by Brexit stalwart Vince Cawthron who is looking into a feasibility study about whether it would be possible to bring a legal case against both Jones and Soubry. Vince is a veteran and resided in Wales and can frequently been seen at many demos and events.
Vince wrote on social media:
“I re-post my original post of 17th January 2019 with a minor update in the hope that 3 people will volunteer to work with me on what I propose. My post is a call through my use of social media awareness to initiate and encourage at least some people to rise and take some responsibility on behalf of others, in the context of asking just a few of the many of us to work towards exposing the establishment, in particular Anna Soubry and Owen Jones as blatant hypocrites in their condemnation of freedom of speech when it does not support their aims and objectives.
My original call to the public was ‘We the people only need to win one court case of Slander or Libel, ideally against Anna Soubry or Owen Jones and it will send an earthquake message right across the political and media establishments that we are capable of holding them to account by using UK Law.’
There are many ways to ‘crack an egg’, however people can take others to court for slander and/or libel as they are civil offences, not criminal so the police and CPS are not directly involved in the lawful process. Therefore people should not be discouraged from any lawful action to achieve retribution against Anna Soubry or Owen Jones, including persuading Anna Soubry’s electorate and her local Conservative Party to ‘deselect’ her and remove her from her constituency seat. ‘Use the weapons of the establishment against the establishment’.
I await to see whom will rise to the challenge to organise the process of slander/libel through the judicial system” Alas it appears my fellow UK citizens have yet again shown that they are quite content to let the few fight on behalf of the majority and I am not at all surprised because far too many of my so called fellow UK citizens (male or female) cannot be bothered to ‘walk the walk’ and they leave it to the few to fight the battle on their behalf.
I propose (1) collate the video, audio, press articles that provide evidence of Anna Soubry and/or Owen Jones of committing Slander and/or Libel. (2) Identify a suitable legal team qualified in Slander and libel and whom will have the courage to take the case(s) on our behalf. (3) Obtain estimates for the legal costs associated withe the prosecution(s). (4) Crowd fund to achieve the costs for the Slander and/or Court proceedings. Simple plan but it requires just only 3 other dedicated people to work with me to bring it into a court action. So I await again for committed volunteers.”
