The increasing effectiveness of parliamentary petition achieved debate

By Anthony Webber

I have been the main petitioner or in the support team of several successful freedom issue Parliamentary petitions.

I give a massive thank you to the many people who signed the petition to obtain a Parliamentary debate on setting up a public inquiry into covid-19 vaccine safety.  (Over 107,000 signatures).

Many MPs have thanked us for ensuring that Parliament had its first ever debate on the subject on October 24th 2022.

Andrew Bridgen was one of these MPs who made a key speech at this debate and has now had the Conservative party whip withdrawn from him.

Since then, the issue of covid-19 vaccine safety has snowballed with MPs prepared to speak up along with renewed media attention.

The efforts by a number of “Freedom” organisations including the “Truth be Told” protests at the BBC and elsewhere, are evidence of that

Our petitions can create ripples which turn into powerful waves of freedom.

Help is now needed with another very important freedom Petition:

We now ask for your support on another freedom issue, this time the right to debate the government’s Ukraine policies.

In the same way that debate on Covid-19 issues was shut down, and the covid-19 vaccine injuries and deaths issue is still being shut down, so has debate on the government’s policies on Ukraine and Russia.

This must end so please help us to defend free speech and democracy.

The government never asked us about these policies, which are not only entering us into a foreign conflict, but are also causing major economic, energy price and inflation consequences.

Please sign and share this NEW petition:

With many thanks

Brief background:

The taxpayer has paid out £400 bn plus on the mishandling of covid-19 by the government and has now committed over £30bn to the climate change agenda. They have also put money into coercive control systems such as 15-minute cities. The Ukraine/Russia policies have cost the UK taxpayer £100bn to date in just energy price support, with costs rising on a daily basis.

In view of the growing importance of the Ukraine issue on the UK economy and the increasing interventionism by the government, all without any mandate by the public, it is important to seek your help with promoting this new year petition.

These policies are causing a major economic crisis, inflation, and huge extra costs, which the public are having to bear the brunt of.

The government has been using its direct and indirect powers with the UK media to ensure there is no debate on this important issue.

Whatever views people have of this issue, they should be entitled to have their say. We had too much of being coerced and controlled during the covid-19 pandemic, and this should not continue with the current government’s policies on the Ukraine crisis. We believe there should be open and free debate, instead of only having the government’s point of view. We also believe that the government never asked us about these policies and they currently have no mandate. Therefore, if they don’t change these policies, they should give the people a referendum so they can decide. I know that just when a key organization or well-known person backs a petition, it can make the world of difference, and perhaps your key individuals and party can help with this?

Further Notes:

There was a Parliamentary Petition which closed at the end of December 2022, which sought to have a Referendum on whether the UK should be neutral in the Ukraine/Russia conflict.

This achieved 13,537 signatures despite it being the most shadow banned petition there has ever been. Also, it was rigorously no platformed by the old and new mainstream media.

To give an example of how much difference this can make, the day after GB News promoted a completely different petition, to call a General Election, it achieved 40,000 signatures.

In addition, the government and its agencies went out of its way to use a variety of tactics to prevent this petition reaching the 100,000 needed to quality for a Parliamentary debate. This has included people in the media, both mainstream and otherwise.

This Petition was unique in that the Government’s official response was so inadequate and evasive, that even the Parliamentary Petitions Committee formerly asked them to provide another one, which they had to comply with.

Having tried to avoid the issue, the Government finally stated they would not agree to having a Referendum on the subject and yet again avoided the fact that they had no mandate from the British people for their Ukraine/Russia policies.

This is a fundamental issue of democracy which the Government is flouting.

The taxes paid by British citizens are being used to be interventionalist in a proxy war and to finance a foreign country with billions of pounds of arms and “aid.” President Zelensky’s Ukraine has become a black hole into which our citizens money has been needlessly poured.

The Government’s Ukraine and Russia policies have directly caused the energy crisis and all the economic and other consequences of their involvement.

This is all with NO mandate whatsoever from UK citizens.

This issue is so serious that a brand-new Parliamentary Petition has been launched from the start of this year of 2023.

It has the advantage of more up to date wording, reflecting the current economic, political, military, social and humanitarian situation pertaining now.

The previous Petition had the disadvantage of having become swiftly out of date with what the Government involved the UK with, all with NO democratic mandate.

The New Petition had to take into account that it had to be different to the previous one and that there are limitations on the number and type of words which can be used, both for the brief description and for the further detail, not an easy task.

This Petition is Standing up for Freedom and Democracy

The NEW PETITION is as follows:

Referendum on ending government’s economically costly Ukraine/Russia policies

The government, unless they change their policies, (including ending economically self-defeating sanctions against Russia (causing energy price rises) and sending billions in arms to Ukraine, instead becoming neutral peacemakers), to hold a UK wide referendum on the subject within six months maximum.

More details

The government have intervened on one side in the Ukraine conflict, without any mandate from UK citizens, who have had to suffer massive economic consequences.
These include increased energy, cost of living, interest rate, inflation, unemployment, tax and rates rises, plus strikes, business damage, and reduced government services.
Taxpayers paid £100bn Energy price support and £10bn Ukraine military and other aid to date.
Striving for peace would help end the bloodshed, restore stability and deescalate the world energy, food and refugee situation.

The main point about this Parliamentary Petition is not to take sides, but to facilitate free and open debate so that the voters can decide by Referendum on this very important issue which affects every citizen in the UK.

It also is a moral and humanitarian issue, as the UK government has blood on its hands as military aid supplied has killed and injured both armed forces personnel and civilians. The conflict has also caused there to be nearly 8 million Ukrainian refugees and a worldwide food, energy and minerals crisis.

This issue is without doubt a Referendum one, which crosses party political boundaries.

The request is to sign and promote this Petition for the sake of democracy and for the people to make the decision on this issue through a free and fair Referendum.

To deny the news of this Petition is to deny debate and democracy and indeed having a free society.

This issue needs courageous people to come forward of whatever opinion on this conflict, to stand up for and promote freedom !
