Accusations the UK will lose control of entire Military on 1st November to EU

As UNN reported there was a highly successful veterans demo on Saturday called Operation Zulu in Central London. The veterans were protesting against the treatment of British soldiers who served in Northern Ireland.

One of those involved in the demonstration and a well known face in veterans circles is Simon Bean MBE. Last night he made a video that has since gone viral on Facebook and YouTube that states in an annotated version:

“This is a call to Boris Johnson, letters have been received by General Riley and Admiral Sir Roger Lane that on the 1st of November Europe will take control of our entire military and security services unless action is taken.”

He then goes on to state that this is in connection with the aim for a war with Russia in the next few years. This will also include handing over our Nuclear Arsenal to that of European control.

As ever at UNN we approach statements like this with initial scepticism and attempt to find an evidence based solution. I will be speaking with a key member of the forces lobby group Veterans for Britain with the initial indication from sources that Mr Bean has gone somewhat ‘off piste’ with this video.

Throughout the day when we have any further clarification of what has been said we will update you, we have also reached out to Simon Bean and Admiral Sir Roger Lane for comment.
UNN has always reported on the serious issue of EU defence integration to which we are totally opposed but our initial analysis is that for what Simon Bean to suggest will happen would pose of myriad of cataclysmic and social issues that we detail some of below:
1- What would NATO have to say about this?
2- If this happened under the Conservative Party’s watch they would be finished electorally
3- Soldiers take an oath to HM the Queen & the UK. This would then be replaced by an oath to the EU, we do not envisage our Armed Forces would take this sitting back
4- The UK government has just recently announced significant investment in the Faslane Naval Base and our independent Nuclear deterrent amounting to tens of billions, would they just hand this over to Europe?
5- Trident is a US based weapons system exclusively given to the UK, would President Trump want this knowledge and arsenal falling into the hands of France?
