Further to this morning’s article on the accusations made by Mr Bean he has just made a livestream where to paraphrase:
“I need to make a public apology to General Riley and Admiral Sir Roger Lane-Nott. They did not receive any letters but rather they received details at a meeting at the Royal United Services Institute. It is believed that commitments and assurances have been made by Government figures to the EU. Who has made these commitments and what are they?
Since last night’s stream things have gone bonkers. I implore veterans and the public to keep things non-violent and we need an urgent dialogue with Boris Johnson and Defence Minister Ben Wallace over EU Defence Unification.
If John Bercow becomes PM we as a nation are finished.”
Mr Bean then goes on to apologise again to General Riley and Admiral Sir Roger Lane-Nott. During this stream he does not repeat the allegations that on the 1st of November the EU will take control of our Armed Forces and we feel that this is a sign he has back tracked from these.
UNN has also spoken directly with Admiral Sir Roger Lane-Nott and he replied with what is somewhat damaging to the initial video:
I am not going into Parliament with Gen Reilly. Veterans for Britain has been warning about the EU Defence Union and the under the table agreements made by the May Government for some time. No Parliamentary Scrutiny from MPs or Defence Select Committee. See the Veterans for Britain website: http://veteransforbritain.uk/
We then asked: ‘Did you receive any letters indicating what will happen on the 1st of November? To paraphrase Mr Bean: “This is a call to Boris letters have been received by General Riley and and Admiral Sir Roger Lane-Nott that on the 1st of November Europe will take control of our entire military and security services”.’ To which Sir Roger responded:
Neither Gen Reilly or I have received any letters. You can use the quote.
As we intimated last night and this morning we were highly doubtful of the claims being made and it now appears Mr Bean has moved from these and his initial video was inaccurate. We do not however feel Mr Bean has done this out of any malice or for an agenda. He is a tireless campaigner for veterans and their rights and we share his continued concerns about EU Defence Integration and fully support him and others to out these under the table agreements taking place. This video has certainly raised awareness of these issues and for that he should be praised.
However we continue to ask our readers and viewers to be vigilant looking at those who then jump on information like this and endorse it with no evidence based analysis whatsoever. Are they doing this because they care or because it brings in viewers and potential donations? We will always try our best to present facts as best we can but of course won’t always get this right.
David Ellis of Veterans for Britain is also encouraging people to contact their MP’s to make sure they know the anger of public feeling around any backroom deals that may be taking place.
