Boris Johnson ORDERED to appear in court despite Tony Blair & Alistair Campbell NEVER facing trial

As you would have seen broken on Unity News Network on Wednesday morning Boris Johnson has been ordered to appear in court over comments he made in the run-up to the 2016 Brexit referendum. Mr Johnson has been accused of misconduct in public office. The case has been prepared and crowdfunded by Marcus Ball, for the best part of three years. By Mr Ball’s own admission “this case is a world first” and has been orchestrated to “bring an end to lying in politics”. This news has sent social media ablaze and has drawn much comment.

As previously stated, many political commentators and personalities have got in on the debate. One of the first out of the blocks was James Forsyth, of The Spectator magazine as well as a weekly columnist for The Sun on Saturdays, who tweeted “think we, as a country, should be very wary about the idea of re-fighting political battles in court”. Many on social media have pointed to the fact that Tony Blair and Alistair Campbell have never been tried for their comments towards the invasion of Iraq in 2003, despite the far more public clamour for this to proceed. Piers Morgan has suggested on Twitter that “only Conservative” politicians will face a court of law, in order to defend Mr Johnson.

A further aspect of this news that has raised considerable concern is the timing of these developments. Following Friday’s resignation of Theresa May, Boris Johnson is now the bookies favourite to become the next Conservative leader. Boris Johnson has responded to the court order stating that “this application is brought for political purposes”.  In an exclusive with ITV News, fellow candidate Dominic Raab has also questioned the timing of the case describing it as a “worry”. This is a particularly startling situation with the contest due to begin in little over a week’s time.

This private prosecution crowdfunded with over £200,000 of donations could do untold damage to Mr Johnson’s sights on the Tory leadership and number 10, portraying him as untrustworthy. Whilst the Crown Prosecution Service has the power to halt these proceedings, many are of the opinion that it would not take it to get to a court before it does significant damage and the Johnson team will be hoping it is quashed before it gets going. Boris Johnson’s guilt or innocence may become insignificant.
