This week saw President Trump recognise opposition National Assembly Leader Juan Guaido as the legitimate leader of poverty engulfed Venezuela. Trump acted as the nation descends into near civil war with current President Maduro using violence against protestors.
The United States, Canada and a dozen Latin American countries swiftly recognised Guaidó, the fresh-faced leader of the once-fractured opposition, and labelled Maduro a dictator, responsible for the economic and political crisis that engulfed his South American nation.

Britain, Germany, France and Spain all said they would recognise Guaidó unless Maduro called elections within eight days, an ultimatum that Jorge Arreaza, Venezuela’s bullish foreign minister, dismissed as “childlike”. Russia, one of Maduro’s staunchest allies, described the threat as “absurd”.
Now there is a growing movement started in the USA and now growing around the world to encourage Trump to take the same stance with embattled French Prime Minister Emmanuel Macron.

Prominent US thinker and writer Jack Posobiec has leapt to the support of this movement using the Twitter hashtag #RegimeChange4France and is calling on the President to say that Macron no longer has the legitimate backing of the French people. The precedent has all ready been set by what the US and other countries have done in relation to Venezuela. American news channels are increasingly showing the quasi-revolutionary scenes taking place but in the UK there continues to be mainstream media silence.
